About us

The non-profit organisation Do Not Call Me (DNCM) was officially recognized on June 28, 2015, by Royal Decree as the official administrator of the licenses for the Do Not Call Me list.

A license for the Do Not Call Me list is a legal requirement for all companies engaging in telemarketing activities in Belgium. The list allows subscribers to register for free if they no longer wish to receive unsolicited commercial phone calls. Companies that carry out commercial calling campaigns are legally obliged to remove phone numbers listed on the Do Not Call Me list from their call databases. Violators risk fines of up to 80,000 euros.

The list helps consumers better protect their privacy while also providing businesses with clarity on who they may or may not contact for commercial telemarketing purposes.

Our mission

The mission of the DNCM non-profit organisation is built on two pillars :

  • On one hand, we are responsible for managing the licenses for the Do Not Call Me list and making the list available to license holders. We ensure that these companies use the list correctly and comply with legal obligations

  •  On the other hand, we actively promote awareness within the sector by clearly communicating the existence, importance, and correct use of the Do Not Call Me list. In doing so, we aim to foster a transparent and respectful relationship between subscribers and telemarketing companies.

During the week of April 17, the mini-series Z Extra Business was broadcast, in which all stakeholders were featured in light of a proposed bill currently under discussion. Telemarketing: Opt-out or Opt-in? Watch all episodes here.
